Executive Digital Editor and Master Gardener
Catherine Boeckmann is the Executive Digital Editor of Almanac.com, the digital home of The Old Farmer’s Almanac. She leads digital editorial strategy and publishing across a wide range of Almanac subjects, including gardening, weather, astronomy, seasonal living, calendars, and practical how-to content. She is especially interested in making complex information clear, useful, and engaging—and in developing new ways for readers to explore and use Almanac knowledge through articles, newsletters, interactive tools, maps, and other digital resources.
Catherine has been part of The Old Farmer’s Almanac for more than 15 years and has helped shape Almanac.com as it has grown into a major digital destination. She works closely with writers and subject-matter experts in fields ranging from horticulture and meteorology to astronomy and climate science, translating specialized knowledge for a broad audience while preserving the expertise behind it. Catherine is also a Purdue University Extension Master Gardener and has written extensively about plants, gardening, and the natural world.
A native of Indiana, Catherine has always been drawn to nature, the seasons, and the connection between people and the land. She volunteers with her neighborhood community garden, where produce is grown for local food pantries and refugee communities, and has contributed to horticultural organizations through plant guides and beginner gardening workshops.
