I wish to try this. Tomatoes vary in size. Would you please advise the NET weight of tomatoes or how many cups? I don't want the bread to be too dry or too moist. Thank you.
Dough was very dry, hard to mix baked crust in 30 minutes but inside very doughy, followed recipe, but smells great looks great but inside the texture of Play Dough. Oven temp was correct. Crust tastes great.
Didn't like this recipe as supplied---too sweet and not enough tomato flavor--I would suggest eliminating the sugar altogether and increasing the salt a little---maybe needs to sit overnight to let flavored blend somewhat, it might improve the flavor---just tastes very bland to me
This is a hit at my house. Day 2 is our favorite when I lightly brown slices on the griddle and rub a cut clove of garlic across the toasted slice and then spread just a hint of butter on it. Makes for a great egg sandwich too!
I had to do some substitutions- used baking mix ( Bisquick for flour, whole grain oats for oatmeal, half & half for milk, and I aded 1 Tbls. of fresh minced parsley with fresh oregano and basil.
I think it is fresh and sweet and comforting- great color good moist texture.
I would serve this for Christmas Brunch- without hesitation.
