Many people attribute Benjamin Franklin to saying, “God made beer because he loves us and wants us to be happy.” The fact is, he never actually said this! But, regardless, this delicious beer bread certainly will make you happy!

This quick bread-style recipe makes coarse-textured bread that goes well with salads and cheese. Learn how to make your own cheese at home to accompany your new favorite bread recipe!

Ingredients
3 cups self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup all-bran cereal
2 eggs, well beaten
2 teaspoons honey
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 12-ounce can beer, at room temperature

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, salt, and cereal. 
  2. Add the eggs, honey, and butter or margarine. 
  3. Mix well and then add the beer. 
  4. Beat and put into a well-greased, floured 9-1/2x5-1/2x3-inch loaf pan. 
  5. Bake 35 to 45 minutes, or until brown in a 475° F oven.
