Easy Crock Pot Applesauce

Easy homemade applesauce made in a crock pot!

Ever made applesauce in the crock pot? Just toss in your apples and 3 ingredients! That’s it! And the results are fantastically flavorful—far superior than any grocery store jar.

Go ahead. Celebrate fall—when apples are being harvested and least expensive! Or, make this crock pot applesauce any time you have extra apples on hand for a snack or dessert. 

Any variety apple will work but it’s best to use a “tender” type of apple which cooks down nicely versus a “firm” type of apple. Examples are: Cortland, McIntosh, and Jonathan. See our full list of best apple varieties for cooking.

Ingredients
12 large apples (peeled, cored, and quartered)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

Gently place apples in crock pot. Add lemon juice and toss gently to coat.

Sprinkle in the cinnamon and sugar. Gently stir to coat. 

Add a 1/2 cup of water and put the lid on the crock pot.

Turn on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until apples are very softened.

Eat while warm. Or, cool sauce and then pour into glass or plastic containers, seal, and store in fridge. 

Serve warm or cold.
