There’s nothing better to fill the stomach than a bowl full of chili. This hearty and healthy chili is made with ground turkey, but you can use ground chicken if you prefer.

Ingredients
1-1/4 pounds lean ground turkey
1 onion, finely chopped
1 bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes with basil
1 can (15 ounces) dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder, or more to taste
cheddar cheese, for topping

Instructions

In a large saucepan, cook turkey, onions, peppers, and garlic until the meat is no longer pink and the onions are tender. Drain and add to slow cooker. Add crushed tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, and chili powder and stir. Cook on low heat for 8 hours.

Pass cheddar at the table for topping.
