Ingredients
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 large onions, halved and thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 bottle (12 ounces) beer
1-1⁄2 cups tomato-based chili sauce
1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1⁄2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 beef brisket (3-1⁄2 to 4 pounds), trimmed of fat
