I used the Old Farmer's Almanac years ago - to plan a winter vacation. My employer demanded vacation request months in advance. Almanac called for a blizzard in January. I requested several days during this time period - including 3 days prior to its expected arrival. I stocked up on food - and simply waited. The blizzard arrived "right on schedule". I sat inside my home (warm & comfortable) with plenty of food. Simply sat back - and enjoyed the non-stop snow. Have bought this almanac each year - since.
