What’s in store for a Canadian springtime? Here are the weather predictions from The 2026 Old Farmer’s Almanac Canadian Edition.

General Weather Report for Canada

Please note that this spring forecast reflects weather deviations from normal for the spring months of April and May. For more details about the forecast, check out The 2026 Old Farmer’s Almanac Canadian Edition.

April/May 2026 Temperatures

As our colorful map reflects, spring will bring cooler-than-normal temperatures for most of the country—British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan—through Ontario. Quebec will also experience cooler-than-normal weather for this time of year.

Other Canadian regions will experience seasonal to warmer-than-normal temperatures, including the Yukon Territory and the Southern Prairies. In Atlantic Canada, we’ll see warmer temperatures for western areas, including Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

April/May 2026 Precipitation

Much of the country will also be wetter than usual. This includes the western Prairies through British Columbia and into the Yukon and NWT. Newfoundland and Labrador, and southeastern Quebec will also see above-normal precipitation.

Otherwise, precipitation will be below normal in the heart of Canada, southeastern Ontario (above the Great Lakes), and western Atlantic Canada, including Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.
