June’s night sky is filled with dazzling sights, from bright planet pairings to the glowing Strawberry Moon and the official start of summer. Whether you’re watching Venus and Jupiter meet at dusk or spotting the Summer Triangle overhead, this month offers plenty of reasons to step outside and look up.

See visible planets by your location and their rise and set times.

June 7–10: Venus and Jupiter Meet Up

Venus and Jupiter draw closer during the first week of June, with their eye-catching conjunction best seen around 9:00 P.M. from the 7th to the 10th, low in the west.

On June 10, in the low predawn eastern sky, orange Mars is now visible beneath the captivating crescent Moon and returning Jupiter.

June 16: The Giant Planet

Jupiter will float between the Moon and Venus on June 16.

June 17 and 23: Noteworthy Conjunctions

The Moon will perform two more noteworthy conjunctions this month: to the upper left of Venus on the 17th and to the lower left of Virgo’s main star, Spica, on the 23rd, best seen from 9:00 to 9:30 P.M.

June 21: A Summer Solstice Spectacle!

The 21st (at 4:24 A.M.) marks the first day of summer for the Northern Hemisphere and the longest day of 2026 in the Northern Hemisphere. This is the day when the Sun is at its highest at midday, rising from its leftmost position and setting at the year’s rightmost spot on the horizon.

June 29: Strawberry Moon
