This refreshing libation was formerly known as “Big Yellow House Cocktail,” named for a beloved California restaurant.

Ingredients
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
6 cups water, divided
1-1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (from about 6 lemons)
4 cups cold water
2 cups lemon vodka
Ice cubes
Fresh berries
Lemon rind

Instructions

Combine sugar and 2 cups water in a medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

In a pitcher, combine sugar syrup with lemon juice and 4 cups cold water. Refrigerate until chilled.

Add vodka and stir. Pour into ice-filled glasses.

Garnish with berries and lemon rind.
