12 Favorite Super Bowl Dip Recipes

Five-Onion Dip

You know that dip you loved as a child? You sprinkled the dehydrated onion mix into sour cream, opened a bag of chips, and were in heaven. Here’s a modern twist made by sautéing five types of onions—Vidalia, yellow, shallots, leeks, and garlic—very slowly, until the natural sugars caramelize. Each type of onion adds its own flavor. The dip can be made a day ahead of time but is best several hours after preparing.

Nacho Layer Dip

The only bad part of eating nachos is getting those chips without any toppings. Our solution? Make a separate nacho topping dip, and take as much as you want each time! Never go topping-less again!

Guacamole

It’s guacamole—what else needs to be said? Oh, don’t even think about buying the packaged stuff. Fresh is easy and so much tastier!

Ranch Dressing

For dipping crisp veggies (or chicken tenders and wings), this ranch dressing is far more delicious than grocery store bottles.

Garlicky Eggplant

Similar to the popular Middle Eastern dip called baba ganoush, this should be served with crisp pita chips or sesame crackers. Smoked paprika adds an exotic flavor.
