Grapefruit is delecious on its own—but kick it up a big notch by broiling it with a little sugar then top with fresh mint. Breakfast simplicity at its finest.

Ingredients
4 large grapefruit
1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
1/4 cup granulated maple or white sugar
Instructions

Preheat your broiler to high. Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil. Cut a thin slice of rind (don’t cut into fruit) off each end of grapefruit so that halves will lie flat. Cut grapefruits in half.

Place halves, cut sides up, on sheet pan. Cover with maple sugar. Cook 3-4 inches from broiler, until sugar has melted and begins to bubble. Watch it closely, as sugar burns easily. Remove from broiler, top with mint, and serve.
