I have an almost 12 year old Siberian husky. This is the third Husky I have had in my life and there is no other breed for me. Amazingly smart, need lots of exercise and time spent together. Owning any dog is a lifetime responsibility and be prepared to exercise, feed quality foods, and/or cook for them. Do not leave alone very much at all and I take Evie everywhere with me. Of course, I do not leave her in a hot car. Luckily, I spend 3 to 4 months in South Carolina during the winter and that is the place to have freedom to take your dog most stores, run on the beach and enjoy cool weather. Most restaurants with patios or decks allow dogs as long as they are well behaved, of course.
With any dog, be prepared to take her to the vet and provide care when necessary.
This can run up to be quite a bit of money sometimes so don’t neglect your dog by not giving her correct necessary medical care. Of course you need to be prepared to spend some money on professional training classes with other dogs which work out very well. It’s you they will train, not your dog.!
I cannot imagine life without my Husky, but she is approaching old age at 12
I’ve been through two other huskies, who died and it’s heartbreaking, but you have to move on and find another companion.

Scarlett Vivian and her brother Otis Moon (Siberian Huskies) found/rescued me in 2012, they were about 1.5 years old. We think they were abandoned because they were not claimed after I had them picked up by animal control. I adopted both when the animal shelter deemed them eligible for adoption. I lovingly spoiled them, gave them everything they needed. Scarlett and Otis brought so much love, excitement, and entertainment to my home. We unexpectedly lost Otis due to illness in 2016, and it's still painful. Scarlett and I grieved together, we still miss him. Scarlett does everything with me, even school. I told my Professor that she’s earned an honorary degree. Scarlett is amazing, she has incredible strength, she’s smart and always gets her point across. She runs the house, therefore she’s the queen of the manor. Scarlett has been fighting cancer since 2020. She's had surgery and has been undergoing chemo for over a year. I’ve been following her lead on this; she has good and bad days. She’s truly a fighter, she’s my rock, and everyday we have together is a blessing.
I love my Dog Daisy Mae. She was found wondering in a field. I was blessed that she was pickup by animal rescue and I seen her picture and knew she had to be mine. We have been together for 10 years now. Loving every minute with my best friend ❤️🐕🐾
