Frequently Asked Questions

How often should you cut your hair for growth?

For healthy growth, aim to trim your hair every 8 to 12 weeks. Regular trims prevent split ends from traveling up the strand, helping your hair stay strong and appear longer over time.

Does cutting your hair make it grow faster?

Not exactly! Hair grows from your scalp, not your ends—but regular trims keep your hair healthy and prevent breakage, which makes it seem like it’s growing faster.

Is it good to cut hair on a Full Moon?

Many people believe that cutting your hair on a full moon encourages faster, thicker growth—an idea rooted in lunar beauty traditions. While it’s not scientifically proven, it is an age-old practice with plenty of anecdotal evidence!

However, our calculations use more than the Moon. We have calculated our Best Days based on the Moon phase as well as its astrological location and planetary positions for more precise results. Try it out and tell us what you think!

Do you follow a lunar hair-cutting chart? What have been your experiences with the best days for haircuts?

I use to cut my hair on the full moon in my thirties and it never grew. Since following this guide in my forties my hair is super long. Thanks! 🖤

I've been following the almanac for cutting my hair for years . Try to trim my hair once a month, it's gotten thicker and grows atleast 2 inches a month maybe more but no less. I cut no less than an inch off each time usually more, and, within 6 months it gets atleast 6-7 inches longer. Don't knock it till you try it.

Does the fast/ thicker hair growth only work for younger women or does it also work for post menopausal women as well? Just wondering. Thanks

I have been following this for almost 2 years now. Dust, my ends off once a month. And my hair is down to my waist. Thick and full. I do not think the farmers almanac needs to do better. I think you need to be a little more open-minded.

Information is misleading. For hair growth, trim in a waxing moon- YES, but IN CONJUNCTION with when stars are in a WATERSIGN! (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces). This is following the ancient farmers Almanac calendars. Phase of the moon alone is not enough and is misleading. Do better.

Hi - can you explain and give us the beat times that you think are the best for cutting hair to make it grow healthy and long / length? Thank you!

It's ridiculous to call this misleading. They have their method and recommendation. There are other methods and if you want to point them out and offer some evidence why you think it works best, then do so. You can't prove their method works or doesn't it.

Kathy You have given me something new to consider, graying hair. I am on a personal wellness journey and unit recently started learning and following moon phases and other natural remedies. I’m in my early 50’s and no gray head to speak of, but I’m very curious if you personally have other habits or cares you do for your hair health (body health or anything else) that you believe may have influenced your health, long, non (or minimal) gray hair results.
