Meaning, Symbolism, and History of Turquoise, Tanzanite, and Zircon
Why are December birthday gems/stones always changing ? I was born in December and remember that the birthday stone once was black onyx (how depressing), then changed to turquoise (still not a beautiful stone/gem compared to other birthstones), then changed to zircon (very light blue ... and a bit better), and finally changed to blue topaz (a whole lot better). I think December's birthday stone should either be a ruby or an emerald due to the Christmas holidays ! No other birthstone has colors so significant to the month of December !!! Hmm, perhaps pearl should be for June (white - for the June bride).
I need to correct something in the article about turquoise. There is no such thing as ancient Turkey. All that place in Minor Asia was occupied by Greeks or Greeks "relatives". Ottoman Turkes come to the area around 1400 a.C. It was nomadic tribes witch like to make wars. One man managed to bring them all together and then criete the Ottoman Turkes. Witch in time attacked Constantinople ...And the rest is history ...
"witch"??
So true. Thanks
I need to correct something, it’s which not witch unless you’re referring to something that rides a broomstick.
LOL!
