What's cooking in The Old Farmer's Store?
The Double-Apple Walnut was better--sweeter, firmer. I did add 1/4c granulated sugar to this recipe, but as the headline suggests, apple butter would give it more flavor. I had it with some butter which was nice, but it's very crumbly and falls apart. (I also halved the allspice.)
The pic looks like there are pieces of apple in the bread, but I see no chopped apple as an ingredient. Could chop apples be added without altering the recipe otherwise?
No eggs? Only 1/4 c of BROWN sugar? Will this be sweet enough and hold together without the eggs? I have ruined a lot of good ingredients with recipes from the internet that were not tested.
the recipe calls for 2 eggs
