Some interesting facts about Elvis that we never knew!
I knew about his favorite sandwich but had no idea he had a photographic memory. What an amazing tool to have for an entertainer. I bet Elvis never forgot any lyrics at his concerts!
Amazing! Thank you for the article! I wasn’t aware of any of the facts that you mentioned! Though I was aware, he sang some great Gospel and Christmas songs! God bless him and grant him eternal rest.
I never knew and would have never guessed that Elvis was superstitious. I learn a lot reading the Almanac.
Interesting facts. Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, I never got to meet him in person, however, I did see him in person on his arrival to Honolulu Airport to do a performance in Honolulu. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was his last show before passing away.
I knew he was somewhat superstitious - but - never really how superstitious. Thank you for the fun facts.
Elvis was also a daily bible reader. When he went on tour or traveled, one of his staff members was in charge of carrying his bible.
Elvis would visit kids at children's hospitals. I sold real estate in Anniston, AL in the early 80's. I had listed a house in a low-income part of town. I don't remember the health issue the son of that family had, but he had an obvious learning disability. At that time he was a teenager with the intellect of a young child. I was shocked when I visited his bedroom. I have always described it as a "Shrine to Elvis". As I remember, from wall-to-wall, on the floor and tops of furniture were numerous Elvis statues, records, games, etc. His mother told me he started collecting Elvis memorabilia when he was very young after Elvis visited him and other kids in the children's hospital where he was a patient. She said many were gifts from people who knew of her son's passion. Though I had no idea of its value, I always believed his collection was more valuable than the house where they were displayed. I asked his mother about insurance. She said she was told she should insure the collection, but hadn't done so. Looking back, she probably couldn't afford the cost.
Though I can't remember which book I've read this from (i've read LOTS of Elvis books!), he once took to the street in his sleepwalking. When a neighbor lady found him in his underwear, he was so embarrassed that he would oftentimes sleep with his parents, into his upper teens.
I knew about the peanut butter and banana sandwich, but I thought it was toasted, not grilled. I guess they're basically the same.
His mother spelled his middle name Aron. She thought it was spelled with one A.
