The Old Farmer’s Almanac continues to create, print, produce, package, and ship The Old Farmer’s Almanac periodical in the United States, despite many challenges today. We’re proud to partner with a family operation founded in 1934, Fry Communications, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Like The Old Farmer’s Almanac, which is now the #1 best-selling annual periodical, Fry has grown over the years! With Mr. Fry at the helm, it’s now one of the largest privately owned printing companies in North America.
How Is The Old Farmer’s Almanac Printed?
From the paper supply chain to the printing process and the finished product, there are many steps involved in making The Old Farmer’s Almanac. We’re also proud that our printers have earned the Forest Stewardship Council® Chain of Custody certification, which certifies that all wood raw materials from which paper is manufactured are from legal sources and not from protected forest areas.
The origin of the wood must be documented and tracked at all steps of manufacturing and distribution. This certification was attained after a thorough audit by an independent auditor of our procedures and systems in place.
