What are the Taurus Dates?

Taurus is the second astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Taurus. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun transits this sign between April 20 and May 20. If your birthday falls in this date range, you have a Taurus Sun Sign.

The Zodiac Sign of Taurus spans the 30th to 60th degree of celestial longitude.

Taurus Signs

Taurus, the Earth sign symbolized by the steadfast Bull, is ruled by the planet Venus, the embodiment of love and beauty. Much like the earth itself, Taureans are grounded and practical individuals who value stability and comfort. They are known for their sensuality, enjoying the finer things in life, like delicious food, luxurious textures, and artistic beauty.

Taurus Personality

Taureans are the sensual, practical members of the zodiac. Does that sound contradictory? It’s not.

Loving comfort, you are a tactile person. You enjoy plush lounges and fluffy rugs and being surrounded by soothing things. You prefer natural materials in your clothing, so cotton, silk, and cashmere are on your wish list.

You treasure good food and fine wine more than most folks. Gourmet foods are important to you, and friends know that dinner invitations are not to be turned down. You also have the ability to put together delicious meals even without a big budget. It’s not about the money; it’s about comfort and pleasure. You enjoy beauty in all forms, from art to song.

Traditional astrology gives your rulership to Venus, but I think that it belongs to the Earth. You have a strong desire to own rather than rent to put down roots. You value stability, and you are happiest when puttering around, whether it’s with a cup of coffee or in the garden. In your home life, you also value harmony. Thus, you look for stability in your relationship, and you are incredibly loyal to your partner. Taurus values sensuality and touch, too, which doesn’t hurt things. While you want your partner to have eyes only for you, you do not usually tip over into possessiveness (unlike members of some signs!). Let’s call it “territorial.”

But what about the bull-headed aspect of the Bull? Oh, it’s real. Taureans do not intend to fight. They are strong, dependable, hard workers. However, if there’s a heckler or kink, they can get argumentative. What might be perceived as stubborn is actually just a reaction to efforts to get the job done. Taureans are practical, and “pie in the sky” schemas (Air) take the eye off the end goal. Fortunately, Taureans will always calm down and come back to the center (unlike fiery signs). The Bull needs terra firma and harmony. When they achieve their goal, however, they do expect to be rewarded.

Taurus Astronomy

Taurus, the Bull, is a prominent constellation best viewed in the northern hemisphere during winter and early spring. It boasts a rich history, dating back to the Bronze Age, and remains one of the twelve zodiac constellations.

Locating Taurus is relatively easy. Look for the bright star Aldebaran, nicknamed the “Bull’s Eye,” which forms the V-shaped face of the constellation. This V shape is actually a cluster of stars known as the Hyades. Nearby, you’ll find the Pleiades, a smaller but distinct cluster often referred to as the “Seven Sisters.”

Taurus Compatibility

Best love matches: Virgo and Capricorn. You can build your own empire together.

Good love matches: Pisces and Cancer. Your home will be warm and snuggly.
