Pink Lemonade evokes a carefree feeling and summertime. If you ever wondered why pink lemonade is pink, you’ve probably never had the real stuff—which combines the tartness of lemons with the natural sweetness and color of berries for a refreshing sweet-sour drink.

In the recipe below, you may adjust the amount of sugar, which can be based on the tartness of the lemons and the sweetness of the berries available.

Ingredients
Juice of 2 lemons
1 pint raspberries or strawberries
1/2 cup sugar, or to taste
5 cups cold water
Instructions

Put lemon juice into a large pitcher.
Mash berries and press through a sieve. Add berry juice to pitcher. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Add water and stir again. Just before serving, add ice.
