Honey Orange Muesli

Preparation Method

Muesli is a nutritious choice for any day of the week, but it is so easy to prepare that it is exceptionally good for a quick weekday breakfast. Originated in Switzerland, muesli is basically uncooked cereal with nuts and fruit. This bowl full of whole grains, fiber, and protein is made ahead and can be eaten cold or warm.

Ingredients
2 cups quick or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped or sliced apples
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

Combine the oats, milk and salt in a bowl; cover and refrigerate overnight. Just before serving, add the remaining ingredients If desired, drizzle a little more honey on the top and more milk or cream.
