Dream Cake Squares

These Dream Cake Squares are quick, easy, and practically foolproof. Both crunchy and chewy, they taste like a dream indeed!  

Ingredients
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
2 eggs
1-1/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup flaked coconut

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Get out an 11x7-inch baking dish.

In a bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, butter, and confectioners’ sugar. Mix with your fingers or two forks. Press into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Add 2 tablespoons of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt and mix to combine. Add walnuts and coconut and mix again. Pour mixture over the baked base. Return to the oven for 30 minutes.
