January 2026 Astrology Overview

2026 begins on a pragmatic note when Mercury marches into Capricorn on the 1st. This is the ideal transit for making plans. What do you want or need to accomplish this year? Which goals need to be prioritized? Can you find a balance between work, home, and hobbies? If not, what needs to go? Organize your agenda between now and the 20th, when Mercury leaves the sign of the Mountain Goat for Aquarius’s cool-headed vibes.

The Full Moon in Cancer on the 3rd is your lunar nudge to get your home in order. Take down holiday decorations, deep clean the kitchen, and throw out any trash accumulated from last month’s festivities. A day spent organizing your nest will put your home on solid ground - and lift your mood.

Romance goes high-tech when Venus shifts into Aquarius on the 17th. If you are single, there is no better time to update your online profile. You can also meet new love interests through friends or group activities. Just remember to lead with your mind. Smarts win hearts during this transit. Already partnered? Look for ways to connect via the mind. Think: good conversations over coffee, romantic texts, or Netflix and chill. This transit of Venus is also your best slot to invest in new computers, gadgets, and mentally stimulating hobbies. Venus leaves Aquarius on February 10th.

Get down to business with the New Moon in Capricorn on the 18th. Start a new career, launch a side hustle, or apply for that promotion. If opportunities to advance arise around this lunation, be ready to say yes!

The Sun in Aquarius on the 19th means logic rules for the following four weeks. Keep a cool head, lead with facts, and you’ll win every argument. This month is excellent for catch-ups with pals, winter events, and group activities. Why spend this cold time of year alone? It’s better with friends. The Sun leaves Aquarius for sensitive Pisces on February 18th.

The Saturn-Uranus sextile on the 20th in wee hours of the morning is the final pass in a trilogy that began last April. Issues between the old guard and progress found common ground. Work is still needed, but this aspect shows the way forward. A drastic shift in power is on the way, but how it shakes out remains to be seen. Look for the helpers, workers, and brave souls - they will lead the way this year. We won’t experience this aspect again until 2038.

Mercury in Aquarius on the 20th is considered brilliant but a bit icy. During this transit, which hangs around until February 6th, it’s best to let your head take the wheel rather than your heart. Decisions need to be made around the hard, cold facts.

On the 23rd, Mars moves into Aquarius, a transit that favors innovation, independence, and progress. Mars likes to fight, and in this sign, it’s the good kind. Social justice issues could inspire the collective to come together. All for one and one for all!  The power to the people! It’s a fabulous period for intellectual pursuits (and arguments), humanitarian efforts, and community building. However, it can be a bit erratic and restless. While the intentions may be noble, fights could turn into grudge matches or mutinies. Choose your battles wisely. Mars remains here until March 2nd.

Lastly, Neptune floats back into Aries on the 26th for a long stay that lasts until March 2039. 2025 gave us a taste of what this transit is all about: fresh inspiration and ideals. Now, we can begin building the dream in earnest. What do you want to create? Which new things are tugging at your sleeve? Whatever your imagination conjures can become a reality if you are willing to put in the work. Keep in mind, this transit is associated with rebellion and uprisings. If the powers that be refuse to listen to the people, it could signal the beginning of a revolution.

Avoid arguments about money on the 14th. Create your new budget on the 18th.

Take stock of your finances this month, and you’ll get 2026 off to an excellent start. Where do you stand? Are you bringing in enough? Too many debts? A Full Moon on the 3rd is your best spot to have a conversation with your partner about your current circumstances. However, watch out for arguments when your ruler, Mercury, opposes Jupiter on the 14th. Suddenly, you may have different opinions about which expenses are necessary. Create your new budget on the 18th’s New Moon. Trim the fat and you’ll move through this year like a lean, mean machine. The week of the 17th, a conga line of planets dances into the travel section of your chart, the ideal cosmic nudge to book a trip. A world tour or long cruise will chase away winter blues. Neptune’s entry into your career zone on the 26th gives you a decade to build your reputation. Your charisma could take you to the top, while your intuition helps you stay out of trouble.

Leo (July 23–August 22)

Take a day off on the 3rd. Negotiate a job or joint venture on the 21st.

Your workplace is super busy as the year begins. Expect plenty of coming and going, for the first three weeks, as a string of planets sashay through the work section of your chart. However, you may be able to sneak in a day for rest on the 3rd’s Full Moon. If possible, take the day off. Romance takes up more space in your world the week of the 17th when Venus, the Sun, Mercury, and Mars march into your relationship zone. Virgo (August 23–September 22)

Party with your friends on the 3rd. Talk to the boss on the 21st or 22nd.

The romantic scene gets brighter this month. The Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars swirl through your house of true love, raising the possibilities of a profound connection. This cosmic party can also elevate your creativity - or your chances of expanding your family. Whatever the case, this groove lingers for about three weeks. The Full Moon on the 3rd is excellent for a night out with your besties. Make reservations for a cool event and get the gang together! If you want to meet a new person or start a family, mark the 18th off - on that day, the New Moon sends a dazzling beam your way, creating the ideal conditions for both. The week of the 17th marks the beginning of a busy period, as the planetary lineup at the start of the month shifts into your 6th house of work and routines, setting you up for a few weeks of increased productivity. You’ll have more duties than usual, so efficiency will be necessary. That’s your speciality, so this shouldn’t be a problem. The 21st and 22nd are your best days to talk to the boss. You can negotiate a raise or promotion, thanks to your ruler, Mercury, making powerful aspects to the Sun and Pluto. Your intuition gets a massive boost when Neptune switches gears on the 29th. Trust your gut for the next decade and you could create success - and avoid drama.

Libra (September 23–October 22)

Redecorate your lair on the 6th or 7th. Host a gathering on the 18th.

The first three weeks of January are excellent for domestic duties. After a busy holiday, you might have many tasks to tackle. Delegate with loved ones, and you’ll have your home in order. Accolades are yours to enjoy with the Full Moon on the 3rd. You’ve worked hard in 2025; now you have a chance to be recognized for your contributions. Take a bow! The 6th and 7th are fabulous for redecorating due to your ruler, Venus, connecting with the Sun and Mars. A fresh coat of paint could spruce up your nest.. On the 17th, your ruling planet, Venus, drifts into your true love sector, followed by a slew of other planets over the next week. Romance is on the rise! If you’re single, new options may emerge, offering you variety. Already partnered? You might be ready to settle down or start a family. The New Moon on the 18th is lovely for gatherings at your home. The holiday season may be over, but there may be other reasons to celebrate. Neptune’s entry into the relationship section of your chart on the 29th marks the beginning of a thirteen-year journey that could lead to a profound connection. Keep in mind, this planet can also play tricks. Don’t assume anything until you’ve taken time to look under the hood.

Scorpio (October 23–November 21)

Travel to a faraway location on the 3rd. Do major renovations on the 27th.

A few short trips are possible as the year begins. Your house of quick journeys is activated for three weeks, so if you need to go anywhere, for business or otherwise, sally forth! In the mood for a long-distance journey? Book it on the 3rd when the Full Moon illuminates the ideal opportunity. Home renovations are on the docket when Venus sails into your domestic sector on the 17th, followed by the Sun, Mercury, and Mars a few days later. A winter project could occupy your time when you’re not traveling. Best days to tear up the carpet or knock down walls: the 27th. Your ruler, Mars, is conjunct Pluto, an ideal aspect for epic home transformation. The New Moon on the 18th brings important news. This could be a turning point, so be ready to act. Have you ever considered a career in the creative arts? Once Neptune soars into your work zone on the 29th, you’ll have a thirteen-year window to build a career in music, art, photography, or entertainment. However, this aspect demands practicality. Make sure you have a solid plan in place. That way, you’ll stay solvent while the dream comes together.

Sagittarius (November 22–December 21)

Speak with your financial advisor on the 3rd. Watch your money on the 10th.

The year begins on a strong fiscal note, thanks to a flock of planets moving through your money zone for the first three weeks of January. You can attract more money - and find clever ways to manage your income. This could result in a fatter bank account! The Full Moon on the 3rd is ideal for a sit-down with your financial advisor. A new budget plan will set you up for a profitable year. Avoid extravagance on the 10th when the Sun and Mars oppose your ruler, Jupiter. Restraint will ensure you don’t break your budget. The week of the 17th finds that group of planets heading into the short travels portion of your chart, igniting a month-long quest for quick adventures. Whether you’re running errands, visiting siblings, or zipping off for spontaneous road trips, you’ll enjoy this busyness. Stay alert for a new money-making opportunity around the New Moon on the 18th. Whatever shows up could become a golden goose, so don’t dismiss it! Neptune in your true love sector on the 29th raises the potential for a profound romantic connection. Even if you’re single at the start of this transit, you have thirteen years to find “the one.” Partnered Archers could deepen the bond. All in all, love is on the rise.

Capricorn (December 22–January 19)

Cut ties on the 3rd. Update your look on the 18th.

The Sun is in your sign along with Mercury, Venus, and Mars. This combo gives you star power and the ability to command every room. If you work this vibe right, you can attract opportunities - or new people. Need to end a relationship? Call it quits when the Full Moon in Cancer arrives on the 3rd. You’ll be able to cut ties with ease. Venus begins touring the financial section of your chart on the 17th with a trail of planets behind her. Your earning capabilities could skyrocket in the following month. Cash worries could soon become a thing of the past. Just keep your temptations in check - impulse spending could deplete your resources as fast as they come in. Update your look with a fresh trim on the 18th. The New Moon is in your sign that day, favorable for a new look! Additionally, Mercury forms a harmonious angle with your ruler, Saturn, on the same day, making it an ideal time for negotiation. You can seal any deal (and look fabulous doing it). Begin dreaming of your perfect nest when Neptune slips into your domestic sector on the 26th. Over the upcoming decade or so, you can find the ideal living quarters or renovate your current situation to suit your exquisite tastes.

Aquarius (January 20–February 18)

Get back into your routines on the 3rd. Rest up on the 18th.

This is your annual hibernation period due to the Sun settling into the introspection part of your chart. Mercury, Venus, and Mars reside there as well, creating the ideal conditions for quiet time. Set aside time to reflect on your routines on the 3rd’s Full Moon. Have you neglected yourself? If so, use this day to practice boundaries and create new self-care practices. Everything shifts on the 17th when Venus flows into your sign, with the Sun, Mercury, and Mars trailing behind a few days later. It’s your official glow-up season! After a few weeks of solitude, you’re ready to get social. The following four weeks could be filled with opportunities to be seen. No doubt you’ll attract a lot of attention, and perhaps a few accolades. A New Moon on the 18th is stellar for rest, reflection, and release. Put aside time for spiritual practices and you’ll feel like a new person. Your imagination and intuition are elevated for the next decade or so once Neptune enters your 3rd house on the 29th. You’re one of the most innovative signs of the zodiac, which means this transit will have your ideas moving at the speed of light. Who knows? You might set the trends or invent the next big thing.

Pisces (February 19–March 20)

Spend time with friends on the 18th. Dream up new ways to make money on the 29th.

January starts on a social note but ends quietly. A cosmic line-up in your friendship zone at the beginning of the month has you out and about more than usual. The Full Moon on the 3rd is ideal for a date night, while the New Moon on the 18th is your best evening for a winter gathering with your closest pals. The 18th could also bring new folks into your social circle. If you want to welcome new companions into your orbit, it’s your best day to rub elbows! Venus’s trek into Aquarius on the 17th, followed by the Sun, Mercury, and Mars a few days later, put you in the mood for rest. Suddenly, you’re taking a pass on invites and hitting the hay early. The biggest news of the month is your ruling planet, Neptune, sliding into your money zone on the 29th. While this transit allows your imagination to conjure up all sorts of novel ways to draw in extra money, it also means you could be prone to “get-rich-quick schemes.” It’s wise to remain grounded and practical if you want to keep your earnings.
