According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac reference pages (p. 259) April’s full Moon was called the Pink Moon because it heralded the appearnce of the moss pink, or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers.  Other variations in the naming: Full Budding Moon and Moon When the Geese Lay Eggs
All of these wonderful Moon names—in honor of springtime! Enjoy!
