Last year I thought I would use my horses' manure to amend my flower garden soil. What was I thinking?????????????? I started getting little Bermuda grass sprouts, which I pulled by hand easily enough. Then an old knee injury flared up and I was unable to get in there to stay on top of it. Sooo, before I plant anything this year, I'm getting in there on a rolling yard seat thingy and digging up every darn piece of the stuff. I'll never use manure again unless it's certified weed free. I have a pallet of weed free steer manure waiting to be dug in after the grass roots are gone. My knee is better, so I'll stay on top of any weeds like a hawk this year!!
