Go outside at noon on the day of the winter solstice. Nature will provide (weather permitting) the longest shadow that you'll see all year for yourself. With this thought in mind, the winter solstice has special significance. How can neighbors care for each other in the midst of winter? How can people "make their mark" in the right sort of way? Some folks need help shoveling snow. Some need food or energy assistance. Try to be helpful.
