Hooray! Winter arrives at 4:48p today! Fall is my favorite season, but winter is a very close second. Winter in the Deep South, means cool (sometimes cold) temperatures which bring me boundless energy and much less arthritic pain because my joints aren't swollen and sore from spring/summer heat and humidity. Visually, I love to see the structure of leafless trees and glimpse forested sites normally hidden by vegetation. The air is fresh and clean. Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, St. Paddy's Day...all these fun-to-celebrate and decorate occasions happen during the winter. Boating on the lake is matchless since there are fewer boaters and sea-dos speeding around. It's hard to beat the simplicity of a cup of coffee or cocoa, consumed in front of the fireplace (with the dog curled up between my husband and me)....reading or just reflecting on all of our many blessings.
