ugh. so I just bought a house and moved in recently. have 2 dogs, ages 2 and 11. the older dog has no interest in these things, she just loves to bask in the sun and enjoys her backyard. I had noticed a couple of these lime looking fruits and had no idea what they were. my young dog brought a walnut inside the other day without my knowledge I found it later all crushed up on the carpet. I cleaned it up but didn't think anything of it. she has had diarrhea for the last few days but other than that she is running around and has been her energetic happy self. Now that I know what this green fruit is, I have discovered the two large black walnut trees in my neighbors yard. After reading these comments I am not looking forward to the next couple of months, they will most certainly be falling into my yard by the hundreds. I will have to be diligent with picking these things up, oh joy :/
