Water deep once a month. I too love in Tucson mine are under tree . I didn't plant them there was there when we bought house. I fertilize in spring after bloom with low nitrogen fertilizer like 6-8-8. Than again after Labor Day. We have been here 25 years so I just think them out for first time. They weren't flowing well . Hope to have more blooms in March .Mine do well even in cold weather without protection but you can cut out anything that does get damage..They seem very hardy ,no diseases or pest.Good lucky with yours.
