It seems like you are at a bit of a crossroads. On one side, I’d say you’ve correctly identified that options and challenges. If you continue to raise more than you can personally use, the only ways to keep the excess from going to waste are preserving, selling and donating. If preserving feels like more effort than you care for and selling isn’t viable, I’d reach out to local food pantries or hunger-prevention nonprofits to see if someone could connect your surplus to hungry folks. While your checkbook won’t necessarily be brought into balance, your karma cup will be overflowing and your negative will at least have become someone’s positive. The other alternative, of course, is to scale down. Give some thought to the range of foods you can grow, how much you’d realistically use, and experiment with downsizing until your crops fir your needs. It will likely take a couple seasons to find the right proportions, but trial and error will get you there.
