Regarding Robert Frost's poem, "Mending Wall" it is important to add: They say " Good walls make good neighbors, but I say Before I build a wall I want to know who I'm walling in and who I'm walling out."
In other words, walls don't always make good neighbors. I realize that you aren't really talking about walls or fences in terms of neighborly relationships, but I do wish that people quoting Frost would realize that Frost is questioning the value of the walls and the fences we build that inhibit the building of healthy relationships.
