I have an east-facing balcony here in Florida and it's been a challenge finding the right plants that will thrive in containers in the summer heat. After much trial and error I have succeeded with a Nantucket-inspired grouping of coleus, scented geranium, creeping jenny and Mexican heather. They are thriving, despite the salt air and heat, though they need watering nearly every day.
