Thanks for the advice.
I purchased 4 plants from a local nursery last spring, and while they grew tall, they never flowered and splayed out and died. I cut back those dead extensions but now they are all growing in large circles, again with no flowers. Should I top them off to promote the flowers and prevent the splaying again? Thanks
We used to call this horse mint. I love the flowers and the smell of the foliage. I haven't grown it in a couple of houses, I think it's time to again.
i have my bee balm in a bucket growing very well until, well, my dog peed on it. half the bucket is completely dead. is there a way i can save them and will they recover from this?
Is bee balm deer resistant? Does it repel mosquitoes like other mint does?
I'm sorry -- that's a term I've never heard in 70 years of gardening. Cute, but not very informative. Are you saying the soil is diseased in some way?
The questioners dog peed on her potted bee balm. Thus, soiled soil.
Yes, bee balm is considered a deer-resistant plant. Here's our full list: Deer-Resistant Plants
