Susan Mahnke Peery grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where she never missed a Bratwurst Day. A seasoned food writer and editor, she served as the longtime food editor at Yankee magazine, where she penned 100 installments of the beloved “Great New England Cooks” series.
She is the author of The Wellesley Cookie Exchange Cookbook and co-author, with her husband Gordon Peery, of Potluck Plain and Fancy. Susan also serves as the newsletter editor for Digital Hearth. She now lives and cooks in Nelson, New Hampshire, where her passion for storytelling, tradition, and good food continues to shine.
