Award-Winning Author & Gardener
Janet McNaughton is the multi-award-winning author of beloved books for young readers, including The Secret Under My Skin, An Earthly Knight, and Dragon Seer, which was shortlisted for the TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award, the CLA Young Adult Book Award, and the Book of the Year for Children Award.
When she’s not writing, Janet can often be found in her garden in St. John’s, Newfoundland, tending raised beds, pear trees, and a hillside of raspberries. A lifelong learner of organic gardening techniques, she’s passionate about increasing biodiversity by planting new varieties of fruit, nut, and berry trees. She also enjoys foraging on Crown Land, hiking, and practicing Iyengar yoga, which she credits with giving her the stamina and balance needed for both writing and gardening.
