
Writer, Storyteller, and Creative Spirit (1910–2007)
Dorothy Cheney Quinan was a gifted writer and storyteller whose creative talents left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Born in Boston and raised in Charlestown and Somerville, Massachusetts, she found her voice through writing at an early age. Her story “Paging Mrs. Steele” earned second place in the Sweetheart Stories Amateur Writer’s Contest, and one of her scripts was featured on the popular radio series Dr. Christian. Over the years, she wrote screenplays, a children’s book, and several radio plays.
Dorothy shared a full and vibrant life with her husband, John, raising their family in Keene, New Hampshire. A lover of the arts, she also enjoyed acting and appeared in productions at the Keene Summer Theater.
Later in life, she lived in Waltham, Massachusetts, before moving to Buffalo, New York, where she spent her final years. Dorothy passed away in 2007 at the age of 97, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, warmth, and cherished memories with her family and friends.
