Wouldn’t it be great if you could take cuttings from grocery store herbs and grow them on into full plants? Well, you can! We’ll show you how you can enjoy a never-ending supply of herbs… from a single purchase!
Herbs are very easy to propagate, which means you only need to buy them once for a lifetime’s supply!
It’s an easy technique if you know how to do it correctly, and is especially suited to herbs because you almost always want the younger, fresher growth with the best flavor for cooking.
(As you may know, it’s also easy to do this with store-bought lettuce that comes with the roots still attached!)
You’ll be surprised at how easily herbs wil root, especially mint! It’s a great way to save money. And if you already root new cuttings and having trouble, follow Ben’s directions and you’ll be able to root your cuttings with success!
See the Almanac’s Herb Guides to learn more about growing each herb.
