For those of us with a shady back yard: ramps also transplant fairly well! I bought a bunch from a farmer's market with roots intact a few years ago and planted them in a shady corner of my yard by the compost pile. They come back year after year and I don't have to harvest from wild populations to get my ramp fix anymore!
