While goldenrod has many uses, there doesn’t seem to be much consensus about which varieties are best for any of them. Many recipes for tea don’t single out any variety at all, and most tests seem to indicate that all varieties have similar nutritional value and possible health benefits. When a particular variety is mentioned it is most often Solidago virgaurea, but the only correct answer here is going to be whichever one tastes best to you.
