Blue Jay Calls

I live in the suburbs of Washington DC, in Maryland. I feed Blue Jays shelled peanuts on my 8th floor balcony. The first one that gets there, every morning, will perch on the railing, calling out very loudly. After that, he will go ahead and grab a peanut. I feel like he’s calling out to his friends to “come and get it”. The others will come shortly after that. Or maybe he is being possessive and telling them to stay away?
No sound.
I live in southeastern Louisiana, near Lake Pontchartrain, north of New Orleans, LA.
I live in Navarro County, Texas on the south side of Richland chambrrs lake
I hear jays all the time.
I live in Westminster Colorado and I see many blue jays. I usually see two together but once I saw 5 together. They visit my yard and some times they fight over the food they are aggressive and chase away the bird that dares to eat at the same time.
Blue Jays own my yard. I live in NE Ohio. We had Cardinals around 20 years ago, the Blue Jay’s fought them and claimed our yard. We are in the country with woods on two sides. The Jays drown out most other birds. They don’t seem to be afraid of us either.
We live in Rhode island and my backyard has some trees. Blue jays and cardinals are everywhere here. Beautiful! I feel blessed.
We live in beaver grove mi we have had one or two jays all winter very loud calls
I was sitting in my suv this morning parked in front of the old farmers rock wall watching the chipmunks playing in the spring sunshine and I heard that call, I wasn't sure if it was a blue jay or woodpecker now I know for sure
The blue jays in my region seem to mimic the sound of clothes lines being pulled quickly. I have also heard a bird (not sure if it was a jay) mimic a telephone ringing.
