A quick note about the importance of researching any herb before use:
A few years back, as I was going through a stressful time, a friend suggested catnip tea as a way to calm my nerves. Not one to turn down a good herbal remedy, I immediately went out and bought a plant. Once it was large enough to spare a few leaves, I picked 5-10 and made the tea. It was indeed delicious and soothing, but after a few days of using it (once a day), my period began 2 1/2 weeks early! It took me some time to narrow the culprit down to the catnip/catnip, 2 early periods, in fact, but once I did, I stopped using it completely. I still grow it, because it's a beautiful plant the beneficials love, and because I love a super diverse herbal cabinet, but I no longer use it for ingestion.
Long story short: ALWAYS do your research before ingesting herbal remedies!
